Tavoro is an appointment-only atelier on Waialae Avenue. We fit clubs unhurriedly, refinish and restore them by hand, and send you out with the numbers and a bag that suits the way you play on the island.

Shoes at the door

In Hawaii we take our shoes off at the door, and the atelier keeps the habit. You step in, change into your golf shoes at a small bench, and the clubs wait on a rack of koa.

Kenji Arakaki founded Tavoro in 2012 after twelve years as a clubmaker for a Honolulu pro shop. He wanted a space with one bay, one bench and one client at a time. A fitting here is a long, slow afternoon, not a slot in a schedule.

Driver

Shaft, loft and length chosen in trade wind and still air, with attention to how the ball lands on firm island fairways.
